Outward Mindset Training Coming Soon...

Over the coming months, we will explore the Outward Mindset to improve teamwork and relationships. These lessons will help us work better together and build stronger relationships.

If you enjoy these lessons, you might be interested in joining our in-person training sessions in June, September, and December. Speak to your manager to learn more, and keep an eye out for more information and education in upcoming staff meetings!

What is an Outward Mindset?

Having an Outward Mindset means you see others as real people with their own goals, challenges, and feelings. It helps you think about how your actions affect others and how you can support them.

  • Outward Mindset: Thinking about how you can help others reach their goals.
  • Inward Mindset: Seeing others as obstacles or ignoring their needs.

Example: If a coworker seems slow,

  • An Inward Mindset might make you feel annoyed.
  • An Outward Mindset helps you ask yourself, "How can I help them? Maybe they need extra support or guidance"

Your Activity:

Take 5 minutes to think of a time recently when you helped someone else reach their goal. Or plan to help someone this coming week. What steps did you take, or will you take to support them?

Goodbye, Winter… Hello Spring!

The HSE team is springing forward with exciting updates! After our annual HSE Audit, we’ve identified ways to improve our Health and Safety Program and boost our audit score for the year ahead. Here are some key changes:

  • Leadership in Action!
We want to make sure our Senior Management Team (CEO Nancy and Directors Robyn & David) are actively engaged and visible in HSE activities. Recently, Nancy and Robyn participated in Mental Health First Aid – Supporting Older Adults at SBL and CBL. Thank you both for refreshing your knowledge and supporting our teams!
  • Bringing HSC Meetings to You!
To ensure site teams know who their Health and Safety Committee (HSC) members are, we’re holding HSC meetings at the Lodges throughout the year! These meetings are a great way to discuss HSE topics and connect with committee members. Check out the HSC schedule in the staff room to see when we’ll be visiting your site in 2025!
  • Keeping Everyone Informed on the COR (HSE) Audit
We’ve put up a new poster in staff rooms highlighting our HSE program strengths, opportunities for improvement, and next steps based on the COR Audit. Plus, the full audit report is available for staff to review. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look and see how we’re doing!
  • Spotlight on Our HSE Policy
To make sure everyone knows about HHF’s HSE Policy, we’ve enlarged it and posted it in staff rooms, with key information highlighted. This policy reflects our commitment to keeping our workplaces safe and healthy. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, check it out!

Let’s keep making HHF a safe and supportive place to work! Thanks for your engagement in our HSE initiatives.
