What is considered functional independence?

Functional independence is defined as physically, mentally, and emotionally able to look after their own personal needs (with or without the assistance of community-based services) and includes: 

• Managing personal medications 
• Maintaining appropriate personal hygiene 
• Managing dietary needs 
• Ability to maintain their suite in a safe, clean and tidy condition
• Ability to live amicable with fellow residents 
• Willingness to follow rules outlined in a tenancy agreement

How are applications evaluated?

Eligible applicants will be contacted for an interview and then reviewed for eligibility. If approved, applications will be added to a chronological waitlist. Due to the nature of an unpredictable number of applicants, first-come-first-serve waitlist times cannot be guaranteed.
